MY HAIR STORY

FSloreal

Ok, so today I'm talking about my hair story and I guess evolution.

I'm normally one to be super low maintenance when it comes to hair, I entrust the style, the cut and colour in the hairdressers hands and as long as I can go to be with my hair wet and wake up in the morning with it looking pretty good, I'm happy.

When I moved to Melbourne, I had to find a new salon, so what did I do? What everyone else would do, google the best salon closest by to your house and make an appointment for a colour and cut (which was desperately needed, as my fringe was halfway down my face). I went in to the salon, expecting a general experience, I mean my hair is quite easy to maintain and style so I'm in and out pretty quickly, I ask for the Lara Bingle bob which is a blunt cut and chin length and Voila were good to go. But little did I know how amazing this salon would be, how knowledgeable to owner is and how inspired I would be when I left.

Fast forward to know, after Sara and the team from Sara Jade Hair and Beauty, created all my amazing hair and makeup looks for the Races and events, when my hair needed a little TLC. As you get older (not saying I'm very old) but you start to realise that the more you put into your hair now, the better it is, the longer your colour lasts and the healthier it stays between salon visits. So I spoke with Sara and we came up with a plan for my hair with L'oreal products to keep my mane carefree, but still glossy and the right shade of blonde. I've been using the below products for about three weeks now and have noticed such a huge change in the way my hair sits with better volume, it's softer without being weighed down and my colour stays blonde, so my purple shampoo is getting less of a workout.

I discovered L'oreal quite a while ago, but with so many products, I never knew what to use. Here I am using the Serie Expert Volumetry shampoo and conditioner, which I switch up every second wash with the Smart Bond formula to keep my colour fresh. I'm also using the Anti Gravity Root Spray which means my hair is easier to style and to manage and stays so much healthier for longer.

The Volumetry range utilises Intra-Cylane which works from the inside of the root, out to create strength in fine hair and give it volume. Mixed with Hydralight which was originally used in skincare, hydrates and holds water in the hair which is perfect for my fine hair and allows me to let my hair air dry without taking out any volume. After washing my hair with the shampoo and conditioner I use the Anti Gravity Root Spray which I spritz on the roots of my hair when it is damp, leave it to air dry or style as normal, and the spray works to give you volume for 72 hours and not that Jersey Shore volume, but that ultimate French girl natural volume.

When I was in the salon, we used the SmartBond system by L'oreal also, to bond my colour to my hair, keep it light, bright and fresh. The SmartBond system uses an in salon regime as well as an at home product to use every second wash. In the salon, Sara used the step 1 additive and step 2 pre shampoo to bond the colour to my hair and create the most natural looking blonde. Once I returned home, I switch the Serie Expert Volumetry conditioner for the SmartBond at home conditioner which is enriched with nutrients give you salon quality hair at home.
