THE TRAVEL GUIDE: FLORENCE
One of the most stunning cities in Italy is Florence, and its beauty is in its cobblestone streets, open piazzas and extravagant landmarks. From the Ponte Vecchio and quirky shopping bridge, to the Cuppola the most intricately designed Cathedral, Florence has so much soul, it is so easy to just get lost in it’s beauty
TOP OF MY LIST IS GUCCI GARDEN, it is an absolute must in Florence. Opened earlier this year, the restaurant is an extension of the exclusive store, which only sells pieces exclusive to the store, branded with a Gucci cat. We were so lucky, we stumbled across the Gucci restaurant and found a spare table for lunch, as it was the most stunning venue, from the velvet couches to the staff wearing Gucci loafers, it is just such a magical restaurant. Delicious food created by world renowned chefs, and all served on Gucci plates, what more could you want? A Gucci purse purchased with lunch?

Looking for a gorgeous wine bar, then La Nicchia Winebar is for you. From the painted murals on the wall, to the lounge room like decor, the wine bar is very typical Italy, and just as extravagant and the rest of Florence. Pop in for a wine before dinner, or to pick up some spirits, or even stay for some small plates of food, with an emphasis on seafood.

For pizza, head to Bottega Conviviale in the heart of Florence. With a complementary prosecco on arrival and modern interior, make sure you make a booking before heading here, as it is a small space and does get extremely busy.

The cuppola in Florence is absolutely gorgeous and definitely do the 900+ steps to the top, it is well worth the view. It is the perfect photo spot so make sure to catch the sunrise and head there early morning to see the piazza without the crowds of people lining up for the Cathedral.
When it comes to shopping, save your money, because Florence is the absolute best for shopping, especially when it comes to Leather. From jackets to shoes, the leather is absolutely gorgeous and incredibly well priced, just make sure to bargain your way into a better price. The Gucci Garden store is incredible and you won’t just stay for lunch, you’ll have to purchase one of your own exclusive pieces. The Ponte Vecchio is always a great shopping spot for jewellery, sunglasses and all things accessories, however when it comes to leather there are hundreds of market stalls and stores, so look around to find the best price and style of jacket or bag you're after. A friend recommended a specific leather store, Art Pelle (Via Sant'Antonino 74/r, Florence. Contact: email@example.com) where he'd purchased a jacket previously, so we headed straight there to purchase our own! Do make sure you negotiate with them, as the price on the tag does not reflect the actual price they'll sell it to you for, we paid around $150AUD (the tag said $550) and of course the more you buy, the cheaper you'll be able to purchase it for.
