HOW TO MAKE YOUR BASICS GO THE DISTANCE

So you have a blazer at the back of your wardrobe, that you purchased last season (maybe even when I did my what to buy at Zara post) when female power dressing was in, but you don't know how to update it so that no one notices you're still wearing it a year on.

What to do.

Drag out that blazer of course and make it work for you through the next year or two! I'm not one to just purchase pieces for the sake of trends, I love to purchase pieces that will last the distance and a blazer is just that. I was gifted this gorgeous blazer dress from the amazing girls at Prem the Label and wanted to show you how to work the trend without having to buy another piece for your ever-growing wardrobe. The Mr Grey dress is of course a stunning piece that you'll wear, but we're not all made of money so instead invest in a great belt and create this same outfit with pieces you already have.

I love wearing longer style blazers as dresses, with a modern boot to keep it chic. If it's not long enough, then wear your blazer over a mini skirt, add a belt to create a a more feminine silhouette.

You want to keep the jewellery simple and delicate, think taking off three pieces before walking out the door, just so you keep the focus on the shape of the outfit and don't over clutter it.
